these roots down reach into the ground when i look it’s coming back around how can you go on sleeping with your eyes open? keep out of this a lost cause wood nailed over the windows and door i'd like to help you believe me i would' but my hands are tied with a blind fold this should be as easy as it looks i can follow simple instructions and i can copy pictures form books rusted strings and burnt bookends all of these stories i’ll tell my friends when the mist lifts i’ll follow my footsteps back
2.
crashing 02:18
they said you were asleep and drove the car into the lake but now you're conscious you remember them cutting your brakes driving on the ring road at different speeds every day the ripples on the water the tide sweeps it away the peace has been shattered your friends all look away politely make excuse and a swift escape
3.
tie loosener 03:22
silent as a shadow that moves without light the lullaby that sings you to sleep every night a thief’s broken mirror sees his victim’s eyes and i’m running out of ways to waste your time you keep getting it wrong this is the first thing that you’ve done right are you going to lower the bar for me because i’m sick of trying to hit all these targets you see running and aiming wildly burnt your fingers on matches again whilst trying to light the fuse on dynamite if that’s the answer then i don’t want to know the question that burns in your eyes
4.
been around 03:15
i know that you've always been around and it'll take much more than that to bring you down these are the limits of what we can take how long did you think this could go on? how long did you think this could go on? how much did you think we could take? did you forgot about the numbers upgrade to obsolete down comes the rain again wash away and start again and it's over
5.
pages 04:44
i looked in the book of my memories lots of torn out pages and unfinished sentences the seasons change but you still feel the same time falls away can you retrace your steps?
6.
morning m8 02:36
can you spare some time i know it's been a while licking your wounds leaves a bad taste in the mouth row your boat pretend it's not a dream now it's over it's over imagine if you said all the shit that in your head take a quick dip in the stream of conciousness have you ever told a lie to help them sleep at night now it's over it's over
7.
in time 02:29
i was in time and not surprised to find that all of your lies were the truth no one knows where this river flows but i'll follow it back to you through this soil i can see it all every we have been through cold flowers bud watered by your blood spiralling down the whirlpool
8.
sea song 03:51
he left his home over oil stained driveway his face dried and cracked form the air took the same path into the town like the back of his hand dust settles on everything you own and I can't stop bad things happening to myself and everyone else the oars are broke but the ship is still afloat took a walk on the sea front, people push past him sea mist from the crashing waves he walks straight through it and tries to believe it could wash him away join with the ocean, all of my memories just ripples in the sea smash into the beach
9.
all the clock must have stopped on that day i dig with my hands and the ground starts to shake i lay on the lines, the old ways walked through time and map out the wrinkles on my face i shouldn't start to care, it feels too late i try to say it's funny but there's no smile on my face all the little things by themselves don't do any harm a few drops of rain, never hurt anyone until it pools up and starts to rage and you ignored the signs rivers run to the sea and wash everything away
10.
if i could 01:57
if i could make all of my mistakes again i probably would maybe just without you chopping up bridges for fire wood ooo ooo aaaa aaaaaaah oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

album info
sky burial is our debut album which came out during a weird time in history for pretty much everyone in the world. some of these songs are really old, written a while ago in our 20s, whereas some were written as the album was taking shape and being mixed. it's a record of 2 halves in many ways. bookended by rock bangers, the middle section from pages onwards strays into quieter, more reflective and experimental territory before sailing out of the mist and spume into sea song and smashing onto the rocks of use your feet. It’s this middle section which provided a beacon guiding me to a way of creating in the future which feels more my own. sky burial in the cultures where it was practiced was a positive and necessary function, the remains returning to the earth and the creatures which feed from it providing for the future. hopefully this album will do the same for me and anyone who stumbles across it. thanks for checking it out.
