over oil stained driveway
his face dried and cracked form the air
took the same path into the town
like the back of his hand

dust settles on everything you own
and I can't stop bad things happening to myself
and everyone else

the oars are broke but the ship is still afloat

took a walk on the sea front, people push past him
sea mist from the crashing waves
he walks straight through it and tries to believe it could
